SailLab is a sailing analytics app. Record straight from the app, or upload your GPS track after sailing — every sail gets a map, replay, speed and VMG by point of sail, and every tack and gybe timed. Races are where it goes furthest: SailLab detects them automatically, ranks all boats, and shows you exactly where you gained or lost time against your competitors. Available on iOS, Android and the web.

Yes. If the event runs on Vakaros RaceSense, the organiser's start line and start timer are in your Vakaros track, and SailLab extracts and uses them automatically. Nothing is needed from the organiser otherwise: without RaceSense, SailLab works the start line and the gun out from the tracks themselves, or from the line you ping in the app.

SailLab reads GPX, VKX (Vakaros), VTK (Velocitek) and FIT (Garmin) files. If your device exports GPX, SailLab can read it. Garmin activities can be shared straight into SailLab from Garmin Connect.

Just upload your GPS file — SailLab figures out where your races start and end on its own. It separates individual races from the rest of your session and presents each one with rankings and stats. No marking up files or entering times manually.

Three things, mainly. Whether you were fast: speed and VMG by point of sail, against the fleet median. Whether you sailed further than you had to: the distance you sailed on every leg, next to every other boat's. And where the gap opened: leg-by-leg splits show which leg the boats ahead got away on, and the replay shows where they went instead. Every tack and gybe is timed and your starts are measured against the fleet too — not more numbers for their own sake, but answers you can take into the next race.

SailLab is currently in open beta — no credit card required. After launch we'll keep a free tier with the core features, and add paid features on top for sailors who want more. The goal is to keep SailLab accessible to everyone. Existing beta users will get advance notice of any pricing details.

Yes. Record or upload your first sail straight away and look around — no account, no email, no card. When you want to keep it, create a free account and everything you recorded as a guest comes with you, including via Google or Apple sign-in. There is also a web demo: open it in the browser and explore a real fleet race day, every boat's track and the races found in it, without signing in.

SailLab runs on iOS (via TestFlight), Android (via Google Play open testing), and in the browser on a laptop or tablet. One account everywhere — sign in anywhere and your data follows.

You don't need to set anything up. Each team uploads their own track — SailLab automatically aligns boats by time and location and stitches the fleet together. You'll get a synchronized multi-boat race replay and fleet-wide aggregates (tacking speed, VMG, start quality) so you can see exactly where the performance differences are. No shared team, no event code, no group invite required.

Everyone in a shared session sees the same race: the tracks in replay, the finishes and the leg splits. Beyond that, the comparison views are designed to limit what one team learns about another — stats are shown as the fleet's median and range rather than boat by boat, and direct boat-to-boat comparison is kept limited on purpose.

No. Your phone is enough — SailLab records the track itself, and on iPhone you can record on an Apple Watch with the phone left ashore. If you already use a dedicated GPS, SailLab reads Vakaros, Velocitek and Garmin files as well as plain GPX.
