In short
SailLab turns a GPS track — recorded live, on your watch, or uploaded afterwards — into sailing analytics: the track on a map, speed and VMG by point of sail, every tack and gybe timed, and your trend over the season. Races are where it goes furthest: found automatically, your fleet linked in, every boat ranked with leg splits and starts. Results in about a minute.
The debrief is built to answer three questions: Was I fast? Did I sail further than I had to? Where did the gap open? Speed and VMG by point of sail against the fleet answer the first (Reading a session); the distance you sailed on every leg, next to every other boat's, answers the second; and the leg splits with the replay answer the third — the leg the boats ahead got away on, and where they went instead (Races).
How it works
- Go sailing. Record in the app or on your watch, or use the file from your Vakaros, Velocitek or Garmin.
- Upload the track. Pick the boat. SailLab works out the wind, finds the races and runs the numbers.
- Open your session. Map, replay, every metric, and the fleet view if anyone else was out.
Upload, and the rest is automatic
A GPS track is all it takes: no files to label, no wind to log, no races to mark. Add more and the analysis gets better — a pinged start line, a start timer, a RaceSense event — but nothing is required to begin. Wind direction is estimated, your data is aligned with the fleet you sailed with, and the whole crew sees the same session, each on their own phone.
Who it's for
Sailors who want to know how they actually sailed — a training evening on your own, a squad session, or a regatta — without a pro budget. Dinghy or keelboat, any class. A phone is enough; a track from a watch, Vakaros, Velocitek or Garmin works too.

Training fleets
Boats out together are linked into one session automatically — no invites, no setup.
- Side by side: the group's min, median and max on every stat, upwind and downwind.
- One replay of the whole group on the same clock.
- Two boats are enough for a real comparison — who was faster where, and by how much. Every extra boat sharpens it.
Racing fleets
Club series or regatta, however the event is run.
- Ranked per race with finish times, leg splits and how the starts went against the fleet. Results refresh as boats come in.
- Nothing from the organiser: no start time, no event code, no tracker to hand out. Any boat with a track can join.
- Sharper with every track: mark positions and lap counts improve as more of the fleet uploads.
Racing with RaceSense
The organiser's start line and start timer are extracted from your Vakaros track automatically and used in the analysis.
